Add underlay to a quote (including a custom underlay)

What does this do?

Each flooring type can carry an underlay, charged per m² over the same area as the flooring. Pick one of the built-in foams or set up a Designer Underlay with your own name, cost and selling price.

How to use it

  1. Go to step 3 · Products & Pricing and pick the flooring type's tab.
  2. Under Underlay, choose an option: No underlay, one of the foams (for example 10mm Foam — £6.00/m²), or Designer Underlay — custom price.
  3. Enter the Underlay cost price per m² so the profit check knows what it costs you.
  4. If you chose Designer Underlay, type the Underlay Name (shown on the quote), the Cost price per m² and the Sell price per m².
  5. Press ▶ Calculate All Rooms on step 4. Underlay appears as its own line on the quote.

Two carpets (or two vinyls) on one job

One job can have more than one product of the same type, for example a Saxony in the lounge and a twist on the stairs. Each product has its own price, fitting rate, waste and underlay, is planned on its own roll, and is named on the quote, cutting plan and fitter sheet.

Give the customer a detailed quote

The Detailed Quote is the customer-facing document built from your estimate: each room with its product and price, then fitting, underlay, floor preparation, uplift and accessories, the net total, VAT and the total. If a deposit is on, it shows the deposit and the balance due on completion.

Customer Quotes

Your standard rates are remembered for every new job

The rates you type on Products & Pricing become your standard rates. Every new estimate, on every device in your company, starts from them. You can still change any rate on any job without affecting the standards.

Add door bars and other accessories to a quote

Accessories are the extra bits charged as their own quote lines. Door bars are priced each with a quantity; adhesive, plywood and other floor preparation are added on the Floor Preparation tab for just the rooms that need them.
