Set the default waste allowance and pattern repeat

What does this do?

Every flooring type has a default waste allowance and pattern repeat. New rooms of that type start from these, and the optimiser adds the waste and matches the pattern when it plans the cuts.

How to use it

  1. Go to step 3 · Products & Pricing and pick the flooring type's tab.
  2. Set the Default Waste Allowance (%). 10% is the starting point; go higher for awkward rooms or patterned goods.
  3. For roll goods, set the Default Pattern Repeat (m) if the product has a pattern. Leave 0 for plain.
  4. Add or check your rooms on step 2. A room's own Waste Allowance (%) and Pattern Repeat override the defaults for that room only.
  5. Press ▶ Calculate All Rooms on step 4 and check the Waste Analysis card.
