Why I built it

In February 2025 I bought a 50% share in a flooring business — trade counter, showroom and commercial contracts. After years delivering technology across Europe, the US and Asia for large listed businesses, what surprised me was how little modern software existed for independent flooring retailers and fitters. So I funded and built PlanIt for our own shop, then opened it to the trade. It's paid for by the people who use it, and that is deliberate — PlanIt is not owned by, and not for sale to, any supplier, distributor or buying group. Frequently asked questions

What does PlanIt cost?

Estimating starts at £19 per user per month; a full flooring shop with a till, stock and trade accounts is £99 per site per month — both excluding VAT. Quotes, rooms and optimiser runs are unlimited on every plan. There's a three-month minimum, then it's monthly rolling and you cancel in the app. See the full pricing. Distributors and multi-branch groups have a separate, paid data partnership.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — a full Professional trial with no card required, ending at 14 days or your third completed quote, whichever comes first — the third quote is the point you've proved it works. At the end you subscribe, or drop to the permanent Free plan — 10 PlanIt-badged quotes a month, nothing deleted. Business and Commercial work the same way. PlanIt EPOS is a straight 14 days. Both take a card at sign-up. When the trial ends we email you and take payment three days later, so you always get warning and can still cancel for nothing.

How do I become a Founding Member?

By signing up, while places remain. The first 100 flooring businesses to open an account — or everyone signed up by 30 September 2026, whichever comes first — use PlanIt free until 31 December 2026, then pay half price for as long as their subscription stays active. I signed up when PlanIt was free — what happens to me?

You're already a Founding Member — every account opened while PlanIt was free was inside the first hundred, so the place is already on it: free until 31 December 2026, then half price for as long as you stay subscribed. Nothing to claim. If you're unsure where you stand, email me directly and I'll check and tell you straight.

Can I use PlanIt Estimating without EPOS?

Yes. PlanIt Estimating is a complete flooring quotation tool on its own — measure, optimise, quote and manage jobs without ever touching EPOS. Many sole fitters and shop-at-home retailers run Estimating by itself.

Can PlanIt EPOS work on its own?

Yes. PlanIt EPOS is a standalone flooring point of sale — till, products, pricing, stock and reports — with no requirement to use Estimating. EPOS is now open to retailers — get started.

Do my customers get their own account?

Yes. Every customer can have a secure online account in the PlanIt customer portal, where they can view their quotes, invoices and documents, pay deposits online, and raise a support ticket with your shop — all branded with your business logo.

Does PlanIt work with carpet?

Yes. PlanIt was built as carpet estimating software first. The roll optimiser nests every room, stair and landing across 4m and 5m carpet widths, produces a cutting plan per roll and shows the waste figure as you work.

Does PlanIt optimise vinyl?

Yes. Sheet vinyl is optimised the same way as carpet, across 2m, 3m and 4m widths. PlanIt compares widths side by side so you can quote the roll size that leaves the least waste on the van.

Can distributors connect to PlanIt?

Yes. Distributors load their catalogue, pricing and roll widths once, and every connected retailer quotes on that live data. In return, distributors see anonymised, aggregated demand intelligence across the network. More on distributor partnerships.

Can multiple branches use PlanIt?

Yes. Multi-branch flooring retailers can run PlanIt across every branch with shared products and pricing. Tell us your branch count when you register and we'll set the account up correctly from day one.

Is there a PlanIt mobile app?

Yes — the PlanIt mobile app installs straight from your browser on iPhone and Android, with nothing to download from an app store. Open PlanIt on your phone, choose Install (Add to Home Screen on iPhone) and it sits on your home screen like any other app — full screen, working offline, syncing automatically when you're back online. Measure rooms, capture site photos, dictate room sizes and create quotations from your phone.
