The roll cut optimiser is the bit that pays for itself

Carpet comes in fixed roll widths. Quote room by room and every room leaves its own offcut — and the customer pays for all of it.

A room 3.2m wide, cut from a 4m roll, leaves a strip 800mm wide running the full length of the cut. A typical domestic staircase is 800–900mm wide. Planned as one job, the stairs come out of carpet you have already had to buy. Planned room by room, that strip goes in the skip and the stairs get a fresh length of roll.
