PlanIt Flooring reviews: five flooring businesses in their own words

PlanIt Flooring reviews · 6 minute read · October 2026

In short: five UK flooring businesses on what running their work on PlanIt is like. Tanner’s Carpets and Atik Flooring Solutions run their counters on PlanIt 360. AJ Greenway Flooring and All Out Flooring quote on PlanIt Estimating. Wessex Flooring prices commercial tenders on PlanIt Commercial. The same two things come up again and again: when something didn’t suit the way they work, it was changed, often the same day; and work is entered once.

We asked five businesses that use PlanIt every day whether they would tell other flooring firms what it is really like. They cover the whole trade: a carpet shop in Ayrshire, a trade counter in Somerset, a Cheshire flooring firm that quotes from the phone, a Surrey company that quotes and invoices through it, and a quantity surveyor pricing commercial work. Here are their reviews, in full, with a note on what each one uses.

Tanner’s Carpets review: the whole shop on PlanIt 360

Tanner’s Carpets is a carpet and flooring shop in Cumnock, Ayrshire. Since August its counter has run on PlanIt 360, the plan that puts the till, quotes, invoices, deposits, account customers and the fitting diary in one place.

Andrew’s point comes up again and again: software is only as good as the people behind it. Several of the things he mentions, from the wider quote lines and labour and extras on the till to changing an invoice that’s already part paid, started as a message from Tanner’s.

We’ve had PlanIt 360 on the counter at Tanner’s since August, and it now runs the shop: quotes, invoices, deposits, account customers, and the diary for surveys and fittings with our own fitting teams. What’s made the difference is how they’ve looked after us. Whenever something didn’t suit the way we work, I messaged PlanIt and they had it sorted the same day. Wider boxes on the quote lines, labour and extras on the till, being able to take the underlay off an invoice that’s already part paid. You can tell it’s been built by people who know the flooring trade.

AJ Greenway Flooring review: estimating from the phone

Andy Greenway runs AJ Greenway Flooring in Frodsham, Cheshire, and does his estimating on PlanIt Estimating from his phone. The rooms go in, the roll optimiser compares the widths to find the one that wastes the least, and the quote is sent from the same screen.

His two-carpet request is now part of the estimator for everyone. Each carpet on a job keeps its own price, fitting rate and underlay, and the cutting plan lays them out side by side. The September estimator update shows how it works.

I run my estimating on PlanIt from my phone. I put the rooms in, it shows me which roll width wastes the least carpet, and I can send the quote from the same screen. When a customer wanted a different carpet in each bedroom, I emailed PlanIt to ask if it could do that. It couldn’t at the time. Within a day it could. That’s the kind of backup you don’t get from the bigger software companies.

Wessex Flooring review: pricing commercial tenders

Stuart Burkey is a quantity surveyor at Wessex Flooring and prices commercial flooring tenders. PlanIt Commercial was built with him, and his own workbook is where its bill of quantities build-up came from.

In PlanIt Commercial a bill of quantities comes in from Excel or PDF, the specification is read for the floor types, and each item is built up from material, wastage, labour, and overheads and profit. MCD is added at the end, and only when the main contractor takes it. Commercial is on the pricing page.

I’ve always priced commercial tenders in my own spreadsheets. PlanIt Commercial was built around the way I actually work. The bill of quantities goes in as Excel or PDF, the spec is read for the floor types, and every item is built up the way I’d do it by hand: material, wastage, labour, overheads and profit, with MCD added only when the main contractor takes it. Every time I said ‘that’s not how a QS would do it’, PlanIt changed it. It’s the first flooring software I’ve used that understands a tender.

All Out Flooring review: one quote, one invoice

All Out Flooring is a flooring company in West Molesey, Surrey, and joined PlanIt as one of the founding members in August. Warren prices their jobs in PlanIt Estimating: the rooms go in, the carpet, fitting and extras are worked out, and the quote goes out as a PDF with the company’s name on it.

When the customer accepts, the quote becomes the invoice with its lines intact, and payments are recorded against it. Nothing is typed twice.

We price our jobs through PlanIt now. I put the rooms in, it works out the carpet, the fitting and the extras, and the quote goes out as a proper PDF with our name on it. Once the customer says yes, the same quote turns into the invoice, so nothing gets typed twice. We joined as one of the founding members in August and it’s kept getting better since. When something on a quote didn’t look right, I told them and it was fixed.

Atik Flooring Solutions review: a trade counter on PlanIt 360

Atik Flooring Solutions in Yeovil, Somerset, moved its trade counter onto PlanIt 360 in October. Its price list went in on the first day, and counter sales, quotes and invoices now run through one system.

A supplier price list can be brought in from a spreadsheet or read from a PDF, and the products land on the till in one go.

We’ve moved our trade counter onto PlanIt 360. The PlanIt team came in and set it up with us. Our full price list was uploaded in seconds and we were trading from it straight away. Counter sales, quotes and invoices all go through the one system. It’s early days for us, but whenever we’ve needed something changing, PlanIt have been straight on it.

What the five reviews have in common

They asked, and it changed. Every one of the five comes back to it, from a second carpet on one job to the way a QS builds up a rate. PlanIt is made by people who work in flooring, and a working shop describing a real problem is still how most new features start.

Nothing is typed twice. A price list becomes the till’s products. Rooms become a quote, and the quote becomes the invoice. A bill of quantities becomes a priced tender. Each business describes a step that used to be done twice and now isn’t.

It fits the job they do. A carpet shop, a trade counter, two firms quoting jobs and a commercial QS work in very different ways, and each is on the plan built for that work: PlanIt 360 for the counter, PlanIt Estimating for quoting, and PlanIt Commercial for tenders.
