Charge for uplifting the old floor

What does this do?

Uplift & Removal adds a charge for taking up and disposing of the existing floor covering. Price it as one fixed figure or as a rate per m² of the rooms on the job; the total works itself out and the quote shows it as its own line.

How to use it

  1. Open Estimating and go to step 3 · Products & Pricing.
  2. Scroll to Additional Charges and find Uplift & Removal.
  3. Choose £ fixed for a one-off price, or £ per m² to charge a rate on the floor area.
  4. Type the amount. In per-m² mode the line underneath shows the sum, for example 42 m² × £3.00/m² = £126.00.
  5. Go to Customer Quote. Uplift & Removal appears as its own line, and a per-m² job states the rate.

Accessories are the extra bits charged as their own quote lines. Door bars are priced each with a quantity; adhesive, plywood and other floor preparation are added on the Floor Preparation tab for just the rooms that need them.

The Detailed Quote is the customer-facing document built from your estimate: each room with its product and price, then fitting, underlay, floor preparation, uplift and accessories, the net total, VAT and the total. If a deposit is on, it shows the deposit and the balance due on completion.

Check the profit on a job before you send the quote

Step 6 shows what the job is worth to you: selling price, estimated cost, gross profit and margin. It is for your eyes only and never appears on anything the customer sees.

Profit Check

Set pile direction, pattern repeat, waste, doors and joins on a room

Under the size fields are the options that shape how a room is cut: which way the pile runs, any pattern repeat, extra waste, how many doors it has, whether joins are allowed and whether offcuts can be used. They feed the roll optimiser and the gripper calculation.

Adding Rooms & Measurements

Customer pays the fitter direct (subcontract fitting)

Subcontract Fitting is for jobs where the customer pays the fitter directly. The fitting price still appears on the quote so the customer sees the whole cost, but it stays out of your total, your VAT and the deposit you request.
