Set your standard floor prep prices

What does this do?

Floor Prep Pricing in Settings holds the price, cost, description and sheet size every new quote starts from. Set them once and every job pre-fills with your figures; changing a price on a quote never touches the defaults.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings and choose 🪵 Floor Prep Pricing.
  2. For each item (plywood, latex, screed, adhesive, feather finish) enter your usual sell price and cost price per m².
  3. Set the standard description that appears on the customer quote, and the sheet size for plywood.
  4. Press 💾 Save Floor Prep Defaults.
  5. Start a new estimate. On Products & Pricing → Floor Preparation each item now starts from these figures.

Floor preparation is priced room by room. Turn on plywood, latex, screed, adhesive or feather finish, tick the rooms that need it, and PlanIt totals the area (and the sheet count for plywood) and adds a line to the customer quote.

The rates you type on Products & Pricing become your standard rates. Every new estimate, on every device in your company, starts from them. You can still change any rate on any job without affecting the standards.

Each flooring type has two fitting rates: what the customer pays per m² and what the fitter costs you per m². The difference is your labour margin, shown on the Profit Check.

Step 3 is where the job gets its money. Every flooring type used on the job has a tab with the product name, your cost, the customer price and the fitting rates. The quote, cutting plan and profit check all read from here.

Charge for uplifting the old floor

Uplift & Removal adds a charge for taking up and disposing of the existing floor covering. Price it as one fixed figure or as a rate per m² of the rooms on the job; the total works itself out and the quote shows it as its own line.

Customer pays the fitter direct (subcontract fitting)

Subcontract Fitting is for jobs where the customer pays the fitter directly. The fitting price still appears on the quote so the customer sees the whole cost, but it stays out of your total, your VAT and the deposit you request.
