PlanIt Estimating · Adding Rooms & Measurements

Choose a room shape (L-shape, corridor, landing, irregular)

What does this do?

The Shape box tells PlanIt how the room is laid out so the roll optimiser can plan the cuts. Most rooms are rectangles; L-shapes take a cut-out so the missing corner is not charged for or cut.

How to use it

  1. On 2 · Add Rooms, fill in the Room Name, Length and Width as normal.
  2. Choose a Shape: Rectangle, L-Shape, Corridor, Stair Run, Landing or Irregular.
  3. For L-Shape, two extra boxes appear. Enter the Cut-out Length and Cut-out Depth of the missing corner.
  4. For Corridor and Landing, just enter the overall length and width. They are planned as rectangles and marked as a hall or landing on the cutting plan.
  5. For Irregular, enter the longest length and widest width. PlanIt plans the room as that rectangle, so allow for the extra with the room's Waste Allowance (%).
  6. Press ➕ Add Room to Project.
