Scan a PDF floor plan

What does this do?

Upload a PDF floor plan and PlanIt Scan pulls out the rooms and their dimensions, ready to import. It saves typing every room on a new build or a plan a customer has emailed you.

How to use it

  1. Save the PDF somewhere you can reach from your phone or computer (Files, Downloads, email attachment).
  2. On 2 · Add Rooms, press 📷 Sketch / Photo / PDF.
  3. Tap the upload area and choose the PDF.
  4. If the plan is marked in millimetres or feet, set Dimension units on sketch to match. Otherwise leave Auto-detect from sketch.
  5. Press 🔍 Scan with PlanIt Scan.
  6. Review the rooms found. Fix any name or measurement and untick rooms you do not need, such as garages.
  7. Press ✅ Import Rooms into Project, then set flooring types on the room cards if any are wrong.

Calculate All Rooms runs the roll optimiser over every room on the job. It tries each roll width, picks the one with the least waste, and produces the cut list, the cutting plan and the fitter sheet in one go.

Add stairs (steps, winders and landings)

Add Stairs turns the room form into a stair run. Give it the number of steps and the size of each step and PlanIt works out the carpet needed, including winders, a mid-landing and a bullnose bottom step.
