Back up the till and restore from a file

What does this do?

Cloud sync backs the till up continuously, but you can also download a complete copy of this till's data as a single file and restore it on the same or another device. Restoring replaces everything on that device with the file's contents.

How to use it

  1. From the ☰ menu choose Backup.
  2. Under Export backup press Download full backup (JSON) and keep the file somewhere safe, such as a USB stick or cloud drive.
  3. To restore, go to Restore backup, choose the file, and press Restore from file.
  4. Read the confirmation. It names the file and says how many products and receipts it holds; everything on this device is replaced.
  5. Press Yes to restore. The till reloads with the backed-up data.

Deleting a receipt on the till is soft: it drops out of totals, reports and account balances but is kept in a Deleted receipts list, and you can restore it at any time. Every deletion is also logged.

Install the till as an app so it opens full screen from its own icon and keeps trading when the internet drops. Sales sync to the cloud when you are back online.

Export and import products as a CSV

Export gives you the whole catalogue as a CSV to open in Excel. Import brings a CSV back in through the same preview as a price list, so you can update many products in one go.

Add your bank details for customer payments

Customer payments is where you tell the till how customers can pay you. Bank transfer details print on invoices, quotes and statements and show in the customer portal, with a payment reference the customer can quote.
