Calculate the job and find the best roll width

What does this do?

Calculate All Rooms runs the roll optimiser over every room on the job. It tries each roll width, picks the one with the least waste, and produces the cut list, the cutting plan and the fitter sheet in one go.

How to use it

  1. Open Estimating with your rooms added (step 2) and products priced (step 3).
  2. Go to step 4 · Calculate Quote and press ▶ Calculate All Rooms.
  3. Read the green or amber banner at the top. It names the recommended roll width and tells you if any room needs a seam.
  4. Check the summary figures and the Roll Width Comparison — All Rooms table.
  5. Scroll down for Cut List — In Order, 🧩 Nesting Opportunities and Waste Analysis.
  6. Press Next: Customer Quote ▶. Run ▶ Calculate All Rooms again if you change a room or a product later.

Reduce waste on a carpet job

Waste Analysis shows the roll area you will buy against the area actually fitted, the waste in m² and as a percentage, and an estimated material and fitting cost. A colour bar tells you at a glance whether the waste is good, moderate or high, so you can try another width before ordering.

See and print the cutting plan (cut list)

The cutting plan is the picture of the roll with every cut drawn on it, plus the cut list in the order the fitter should work. It comes straight from Calculate All Rooms, so it always matches the quote.

Print the fitter sheet

The Fitter Sheet is a print-ready page for the person laying the floor: the customer's address, the roll width and metres, a Material Summary, the roll plan, the Cut Sequence, any Sub-floor Preparation, Fitter Instructions and Offcut Notes. Print it, save it as a PDF, or send it with the job.

Add a room by typing its measurements

Every estimate is built from rooms. Type a room's name, length and width, choose its flooring type and add it to the project. The optimiser, cutting plan and quote all come from this list.

Set pile direction, pattern repeat, waste, doors and joins on a room

Under the size fields are the options that shape how a room is cut: which way the pile runs, any pattern repeat, extra waste, how many doors it has, whether joins are allowed and whether offcuts can be used. They feed the roll optimiser and the gripper calculation.
