Compare tender options side by side

What does this do?

The Compare tab puts every live option in one table: specification, quantities and pricing, with the difference against the baseline. An internal view adds cost, margin and waste; a client view leaves them out entirely.

How to use it

  1. Open the tender from Tenders and make sure it has at least two options priced.
  2. Press the Compare tab (or Compare in the stepper).
  3. Read the table. The baseline option is marked ★ and each other column shows its difference against it. Rows that are identical across every option are dimmed so what varies stands out.
  4. Press 🔒 Internal to include cost, margin and waste. This view is never for issue.
  5. Press 👁 Client for the version built without cost, margin or waste, the one you can put in front of the client.
  6. If a column shows ⚠ stale, open that option and press ▶ Re-calculate so the comparison reads fresh figures.

Waste Analysis shows the roll area you will buy against the area actually fitted, the waste in m² and as a percentage, and an estimated material and fitting cost. A colour bar tells you at a glance whether the waste is good, moderate or high, so you can try another width before ordering.

Roll Width Comparison shows every available roll width for the job with its linear metres, waste percentage and number of seams, so you can see why PlanIt picked one width and check the alternative before you order.

Paste a bill from Excel

Copy the bill straight out of the contractor's spreadsheet and paste it into the bill workspace. PlanIt guesses which column is the reference, description, quantity and unit, and you can remap any of them before importing.
