PlanIt Estimating · Commercial Tenders & Bills of Quantities

Price a commercial tender with options A, B, C

What does this do?

A tender is one project priced several ways. Option A is your baseline; every option after it is a separate estimate with its own rooms, products and pricing, so you can offer the contractor a compliant price and cheaper or better alternatives.

How to use it

  1. Open Tenders in the sidebar (turn on Commercial on Home if you cannot see it) and press + New Tender.
  2. In Set up the tender, enter the Client / organisation, and if you have them the Main contractor, Site address, Tender reference and Return by date.
  3. Under How is this tender priced? choose Measured from plans to price from rooms and products, or Bill of quantities if the contractor sent a bill to rate.
  4. Choose what Option A starts from: A blank estimate or The estimate currently in the estimator. Press Create tender →.
  5. Follow the stepper. Price Option A opens the normal estimate steps (rooms, products, calculate) and saves straight into the tender. Press Price it now → to begin.
  6. Back on the tender, use + Add option… to add B, C and so on. Press Open on an option to load and price it; the others are untouched.
  7. Use on an option to Rename, Duplicate, Make baseline or Delete it.
