Give a customer a portal login

What does this do?

The customer portal lets an account customer see their quotes, invoices, orders and statement online and pay you. Create the login from their account and the welcome email goes out for you.

How to use it

  1. From the ☰ menu choose Accounts and tap the account.
  2. Scroll to the Customer portal panel.
  3. Check the Login email, then press Create login & send welcome.
  4. The customer gets a welcome email to set their password. The panel now shows their status and last login.
  5. Use Section access to choose what they can see, then Save permissions.
  6. Press Resend welcome if the email went astray, or Reset password if they are locked out.
  7. To take access away, untick Enabled.

Customers can pay one invoice, the whole balance or any amount by card, or see your bank details for a transfer. What they are offered depends on what you have switched on under Customer payments.

The portal answers the questions trade customers ring you about: what did I order, has it arrived, what have I paid, and can I have a statement. All of it comes from the till, so there is nothing for you to send.

Your logo and branding on the portal

The portal shows your company name, logo and brand colour on the sign-in page, in the menu and on the welcome email, so customers see your shop, not PlanIt. It takes these from your company settings in PlanIt Estimating.

Cloud sync, working offline and running two tills

Cloud sync backs up every sale, keeps products, prices and settings the same on every till, and powers the customer portal. The till carries on working offline and catches up when it reconnects.
