PlanIt Estimating · Profit Check
Check the profit on a job before you send the quote
What does this do?
Step 6 shows what the job is worth to you: selling price, estimated cost, gross profit and margin. It is for your eyes only and never appears on anything the customer sees.
How to use it
- Open Estimating and press ▶ Calculate All Rooms on step 4 · Calculate Quote so the figures are up to date.
- Go to step 6 · Profit Check in the sidebar (or More → Reports, which opens the same screen).
- Stay on the 📊 Dashboard tab. The four boxes show Selling Price (ex VAT), Estimated Cost (materials, labour and extras), Gross Profit and Margin.
- Below them, Gross Profit, Material Margin and Labour Margin show where the profit is coming from, with a quote health note if a margin looks thin.
- Check 📈 Revenue Breakdown and 📉 Cost Analysis for the totals behind the figures.
- If you have changed prices on another step, press 🔄 Refresh from Quote to bring the numbers up to date.
- Press ◀ Return to Quote to go back and adjust, or Next: Send Quote ▶ when you are happy.
