Change the payment method on a sale

What does this do?

Pressed Cash when it was Card? Change the recorded method on the sale. The sale itself is untouched and today's Z report updates to match.

How to use it

  1. Press ☰ and choose History.
  2. Open the sale.
  3. Press Change payment method. It shows what the sale is currently recorded as.
  4. Tap what the customer actually paid by: Cash, Card, Bank Transfer, Finance or Deposit Paid.
  5. That is it. The sale, its lines and its total are unchanged, and the Z report and Reports now show the right method.

An unpaid receipt with no catalogue stock on it can be edited in place. Once money has been taken the correction is a refund or credit note, and once stock has moved it is a void and a re-ring. The button tells you which applies.

A refund gives money back on a sale that has been paid, in full or in part, and records why. It creates a permanent credit note against the original receipt and puts returned goods back into stock if you tell it to.

Online card payments (Stripe) and bank transfer details

The Customer payments panel is where customers are told how to pay you. Bank transfer details print on quotes, invoices and statements today; the one-click Stripe connection for card payments is not switched on in the till yet, so the Connect Stripe button is greyed out.
