See your sales and profit

What does this do?

Reports shows sales, cost and profit for any period, broken down by product, supplier, category, operative, payment method and customer type, with a list of ready-made tables you can print or export. It is for the owner: only a Super Admin can open it.

How to use it

  1. From the ☰ menu choose Reports. Sign in as a Super Admin if the option is missing.
  2. Pick a period: Today, Yesterday, This week, Last week, This month, Last month or Custom.
  3. Read the figures at the top, then the four panels: Sales & profit trend, Sales by category, Sales by supplier and Payment method split.
  4. Under Report: choose a table, for example Daily sales, Sales by product, Sales by operative, Trade vs retail, Outstanding balances, Best-selling products, Discounts given, Voided receipts, VAT summary or CIS & reverse charge.
  5. Press Print report for a paper copy, or Export CSV to open it in a spreadsheet.

Filter a report by date, customer type or payment

Every figure and table in Reports follows the filters at the top, so you can narrow a period down to one supplier, one operative, cash only, trade only, or just the sales still owing money.

Cash Up tracks the drawer from the morning float to the evening count. It knows every cash payment and cash refund the till took, plus any cash you put in or took out, and tells you what should be in the drawer so the variance is obvious.

Export sales to a spreadsheet (CSV)

Any report table can be downloaded as a CSV file that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Set the period and filters first; the file contains exactly what is on screen.

Send sales to Xero

The till writes a CSV in Xero's own sales-invoice import layout, so it imports without editing. Export one document at a time, or the whole period in one file.

Add a member of staff (invite users to your account)

Invite colleagues to your PlanIt account by email as Staff or Super Admin. They sign in with their own login on any till, the estimator or the portal.

The Management tab turns your saved quote history into a business view: your best and worst jobs, margin by product type and revenue month by month. Use it to spot what to sell more of and what to re-price.
